BigGrin hello everyone!
All quiet on the forum........
So I want to tell you all I've been out, got petrol then hit the supermarket! Driving was okay, had windows down and music on, wore sunglasses!
All was well until I got out of my car glad I had my stick to help me shuffle on!
Once I park in disabled car parking space and display my blue badge I find elderly people are friendly by putting up a hand to wave or say hello!
Its just so friendly, like I belong to a special club!! Turning a negative to positive.

In the supermarked I have found a few times that noone has the time for me to shuffle by, instead barging past like their shopping trip is more worthy than mine.

I wouldn't dream of turning my walking stick into a hockey stick!!!!

Time for a rest now.

I am just recovering from a broken leg and thought my nhs provided crutches and walking stick would act not only as support for me but as a warning sign to others, whilst no real incidents occurred there were some near misses, I think many folk just didn't see them, perhaps they should come in talking and neon coloured versions.

BigGrin Hi Eve

Sorry to read about your broken leg, nhs so stingy with their walking sticks and crutches.
I think walking sticks should give shocks to people and shout get back get back danger!!!

Take care of yourself Eve.

So pleased to hear you're up and about again - the weather here seems to have turned rainy today - I don't much fancy shopping in this. I think I'll take the easy option today and get some mince out the freezer and have spag bol for tea!

BigGrin Morning Sylvia

Great idea, started to rain here - but the weather man said heavy rain due sometime soon!
Not going out today, we have colouring planned, cake baking (my daughter says so!) I bought her a disney tinkerbell magazine yesterday to read and colour in as well.

We may watch the olympics today, we recorded diving semi finals, diving finals, bmx and some gymnastics!! My daughter still into the olympic spirit! Oooh, horses - best not watch, set the dogs off!

Does anyone know if the paraolympics will be televised?
I read their ticket internet site can't keep up with demand even though there are lots of unsold tickets. Hopefully people give the paraolympics lots of support!

Let us know what tickets you choose!

When I ventured out to supermarket yesterday, I bought posh (dutchy) meatballs - they were cheaper than waitrose own! So I'm cooking meatballs, onion, carrot, tin of tomatoes, courgette, mushrooms, new potatoes. For the family not me! Mince doesnt like me! I have macaroni cheese and salad for tea.

Enjoy your day on this wet August day!

Jane, you made me laugh. my husband thinks things up for a living, perhaps I'll get him working on your shocking talking stick - would be fun, though don't know how long it would be before lawsuits were being slapped!

Paralympics will be shown on Channel 4 Jane. The schedule looks brilliant, really looking forward to it.

Leigh Walmsley, who has RA, is taking part in the archery ThumpUp

Smile LOL Hi Dorothy & Lyn

Dorothy, you make me laugh!! Decorate my sticks! One is floral, one black - could get my daughter to share her peppa pig and disney stickers!
You are right, I have drink & cake (sssshh, not good for us I know)!! When I go to shop, and slowly go round when quiet!

I was naughty yesterday, in smiths trying to pay and a loud family with 4 kids running around the tills by my foot......I had sticks protecting bad foot - they tripped over my good foot.........I said loudly it was a good job you didn't hurt my recently operated foot, that hurt me!
No apology frm kids or mother.

Lyn
Thank you for Leigh name, see my twitter post, I tweeted her to say her name was given on nras forum that she was taking part in paraolympics!
Thankyou Lyn, I look forward to watching Leigh's progress in archery in the paraolympics.

Roll on 29th August when it starts.

H All

I'm also looking forward to paralympics - I'm hoping to get tickets for the athletics. Interesting about Leigh Walmsley! My sister is into archery - well she's actually into Ango-Saxon re-enactments and during the battles she's an archer - crazy stuff! Mind you she has arm muscles like you wouldn't believe, and looks seriously scary in her iron helmet with sword, bow and quiver - so much so that my little dog was terrified and wouldn't stop barking at her until she took off the helmet

Have fun Sylvia xx
